Banksy has entered the NFT arena!
An original Banksy has been burnt on film, digitised as a NFT and will be sent to the blockchain.
The piece was Banksy’s 2006 work titled morons, that was sold for £70,000.
This marks the first time a physical artwork has been turned into a unique digital asset and more importantly it will give buyers the chance to own the first ever digital NFT Banksy with his agency Pest Control authenticating the event.
With the current NFT record standing at 6.6 million dollars for Beeples Crossroad’s, we fully expect this to be surpassed on March 9th when the bidding closes on OpenSea marketplace.
We reported last week here how sales for Banksy inspired NFT artwork has topped $900,000 this year due to buyers frantically trying to find his first authentic submission to the blockchain.
