This is the first official political photograph ever minted as an NFT in history, directly by the photographer who took it. Therefore, this marks the first time an official political photographer has uploaded work to the blockchain in history.
Political Series ‘Decayed Faith’ marks a turning point for political photography and artistic interpretations of that photography – snapshots of historically and culturally significant moments – eternalised on the blockchain for the first time ever.
Titled ‘Decayed Faith’ to represent the public’s perception of the UK Government’s handling of the COVID-19 pandemic, this photograph mirrors the wide-felt disintegration of that faith, held up only by a simplistic ‘thumbs up’ gesture that supposedly means everything will be fine.
Author Benjamin Wareing usually focuses on photographing the British Royal Family and UK political leaders. We are not sure Boris will be inviting him to No.10 anytime soon, but he now has one of the most talked about NFTs in the UK this year. View on Open Sea here.
